Did you ever want to curl like a Winter Olympian? Well, now you can find out!
Adults, Seniors and Children Age 7 + | Registration required (link coming soon).
Sessions begin at 8:30, 9:00, and 9:45am.
Can you really throw rocks at houses and not get in trouble? What’s a Hog Line, and does it have anything to do with races at the State Fair? Why does the team leader yell all the time? Rutland Rocks Curling Club leaders will answer these and other questions while explaining how curling works, the basic rules, and discuss safety on ice.
Then, Instructors certified by USA Curling will take you onto the ice for a short practice where you will:
Push off from starting blocks with a stabilizer and curling stone.
Slide the stone down ice towards the goal (the house!)
Use a broom to help a stone go farther.
Try it again.
Have fun!
The ice is cold and slippery. Dress warmly and wear soft, rubbery soled shoes.
This event is made possible by Rutland Rocks Curling Club and Rutland Recreation and Parks.
